A personalisation token is showing blank on my page

If a token like {{first_name}} or {{company}} is showing as blank on a generated page, one of the following is the cause.

The field is empty for that contact

The most common reason. Open your sheet in Data Studio and check whether the field is populated for that contact. If the column is blank, the token has nothing to pull in.

Fix: Populate the field manually, run an enrichment to fill it in, or set a fallback value.

No fallback value is set

If the field is empty and you have not set a fallback, the token renders as blank rather than a default value.

Fix: Go to Settings > Variables and set a fallback for the token. For example, set {{first_name}} to fall back to "there" so the page reads "Hi there" instead of "Hi ".

The token name does not match the column name

Token names must exactly match the column name in your sheet. If the column is named "First Name" but your token uses {{firstname}} (no space), it will not resolve.

Fix: Check that the token syntax in your template exactly matches the column header in your sheet.

The page was generated before the field was populated

If you populated the field after the page was already generated, the existing page will not update automatically.

Fix: Regenerate the page for that contact by re-running the page generation column on that row.
